A Classic RV Inspected

We started the 2026 year with a classic 24 year old Class C RV inspection. The Lazy Daze brand was founded in 1956 and is credited with creating the first Class C RV in 1966. Their RVs were hand crafted and although they went out of business in 2022 the brand has established a cult following. We expected to see normal age related items through the course of the inspection, however, this RV suffered from neglected maintenance and upkeep. We found 8 Life/Safety issues, 38 Major and 11 Minor. Water penetration must be prevented in order to preserve the integrity of the RV. The roof, sidewall, and window sealant was not maintained resulting in interior water damage and delamination of the sidewall. A 'humorous' safety concern was identified when the cigar lighter was tested. Once heated it ejected with the force of a Saturn 5 rocket directly into the lap of the driver. (I can move pretty quickly when I need to) Annual maintenance is key to preserving the value of your RV. Whether new or preowned, the investment in an NRVIA certified inspection gives you the objective knowledge of the true condition of the RV so you can make an informed purchase decision.
